The Edinburgh International Festival (3-27 August) 2018 will open with a free outdoor digital performance celebrating Scotland’s Year of Young People and reflecting on the centenary of the end of World War I.

The opera programme features three staged productions across ten performances at the Festival Theatre and King’s Theatre, and two concert performances at the Usher Hall.

The Beggar’s Opera will be directed by Robert Carsen, with William Christie conducting Les Arts Florissants. Stefano Montanari will conduct Stefan Herheim’s production of La Cenerentola, with the cast featuring Michèle Losier in the title role, Taylor Stayton as Don Ramiro, and Nikolay Borchev as Dandini.
