The classic and newly remastered film, The Goddess, will be screened in Paris at La Cinémathèque Française on 24th June 2014, accompanied by a live orchestra playing a newly commissioned score by Chinese film composer Zou Ye.
This exclusive screening of the 1934 silent film masterpiece marks the beginning of an exciting season of classic Chinese cinema which will be held during October at the Cinémathèque.
Supported by the KT Wong Foundation and featuring a further 30 films spanning over 100 years of film making, the season is a unique collection of the great works of Chinese Cinema, focusing in particular on the changing roles of women in society and offering an extraordinary insight into the history of Chinese film making.
